Skeet (Casey)
Camp Alexander

Counselor
I've been coming to camp for about 7 years and this will by my 5th year on staff. I love cereal (that's an understatement). I also love to swim, bike and run. Otherwise known as a triathlon. As far as camp activities, I took many nature hikes to pick the wild blackberries that grow abundantly on camp. I also enjoy the days I got to pretend I was a cat! I go to school at the University of Wisconsin Eau Claire. I hope to major in a health related field. The reason why I've remained a counselor for so many years is due to the Y-Camp Atmosphere. The staff's energy combined with the children's excitement creates a magical place that I proudly call my second home!

J-9 (Jaye)

Day Camp Director
Hello from Sunny Southern California! I am J-9 and this summer I am excited to spend my 10th year at camp after taking a 5-year long break . I was a camper for many years at several Minnesota summer camps starting when I was just 8 years old. I have worked at YMCA Camp Miller in Sturgeon Lake, MN, Brookwood Camps in Glen Spey, NY, and the day camps at the Helen Woodward Animal Center in Rancho Santa Fe, CA. I am thrilled to return to residential camp this year! I decided to come back because I’ve always wanted to spend another year working with my favorite director, Travis, and get to know another wonderful group of kids! When not at camp I am a wedding and portrait photographer, work as an educator at a non-profit animal center in San Diego, CA (where I live!), and am also a background actor (fancy word for extra) on TV shows and movies including 3 years on the TV show “Veronica Mars”. I love reading Harlan Coben novels and watching foreign films during my free time. I also admit to being a huge Harry Potter and Twilight fan. I love eating at Outback Steakhouse and have a weakness for the bloomin’ onion. Though I’d have to say my favorite food is sushi! I can’t wait to meet everyone this summer!

Caitlin

Counselor
My name is Caitlin; I am currently a sophomore at the University of Wisconsin - Green Bay, majoring in Social Work. My favorite outdoor activities include swimming, Ultimate Frisbee and beach volleyball. I love all the Dr. Seuss books and any kind of Italian food. This will be my first summer as a camp counselor and I'm really looking forward to helping the campers make great childhood memories.

Dillon

Counselor
Hi, my name is Dillon Fedro. I come from a family of 4 brothers and 1 sister and have 6 years of experience with working with a variety of age groups including a group of six boys ranging from 2-11 years old. I decided on becoming a camp counselor at Camp Alexander because of my love of the outdoors and helping kids grow and find their true potential. I am currently attending UW-Stevens Point where I am majoring in Environmental Law Enforcement with the intention of minoring in Education. My interests/ hobbies include road biking, which I do whenever the chance arises, reading, with my current favorite book being The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho, watching movies/tv shows, which includes any genre, but my favorite thing to watch right now is Lost. Besides those activities, I also enjoy hanging out with friends, rock climbing, hiking, camping, canoeing, and many more outdoor activities. I can't wait to meet you all at camp!

Bear Claw (Joe)

My name is joe jirschele, otherwise known as bearclaw, and this will be my third summer working as a camp counselor. I graduated from Lincoln High School in the great city of Wisconsin Rapids, and I am currently attending Winona State University in Winona, MN, while studying Political Science with the law in mind. I love to get outside and get the blood pumping through all the exciting activities at camp like hiking, canoeing, and especially swimming! This summer is fitting to be an adventure not soon to be forgotten, and i cannot wait to share it once again with all the friendly faces at the YMCA Camp Alexander!

Bacon (Conrad)

My name is Conrad Bergeron, aka Bacon. This will be my second year as a camp counselor. I graduated from Lincoln High School, and am currently attending Winona State University while majoring in Marketing and Business. A few hobbies I enjoy are snowboarding, soccer, tennis and watching my favorite TV show The Office. I love working with kids, and helping them reach their full potential. My favorite camp activities include field games (dodge ball), swimming, and ropes course. I am looking forward to another great summer, and all the wonderful memories that are sure to come.=

Froggy (Lily)

Counselor
Hey Hey! I'm Froggy. I'm currently finishing up my degree at the University of Minnesota in social justice, youth studies, and mass communication...and I love camp! Coming back for my second year, I look forward to playing all day, everyday. At camp, I can't get enough of team building activities, 10 o'clock screams, canoeing, whacky arts and crafts, camp songs and challenges on the ropes course. During the non-camp season, I work at various elementary and junior high schools in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area, with after school programs teaching photography and leadership. I also really enjoy dancing, singing, and exploring to find new 'favorite places' whenever possible. Having spent some LONG months in this midwestern winter, I can't wait for another summer of great campers, wonderful friends and BEAUTIFUL Camp Alexander!

Tink (Molly)

Arts n' Crafts Director
Hey everybody! I'm Tink (Tinkerbell carries pixie dust, my last name is Pixler.. its all coming together now!) Anyway, this is my 4th year working at camp. I go to the University of Wisconsin- Oshkosh, majoring in elementary education. My absolute favorite food is macaroni and cheese, I could live off of it for the rest of my life. I'm a HUGE fan of counselor hunt, dodgeball, climbing up the slide, canoeing, arts and crafts, and tie-dying. Don't be surprised if you see me in something that's tie-dyed more than once a week this summer :) I also like to play sofball and tennis, going snowboarding, and catch re-runs of Home Improvement, my favorite TV show. I'm super excited to teach kids fun, crazy arts and crafts, make a bunch more memories, and have TONS of fun!

Evil Eye the Pirate (Jeff)

Counselor
My name is Jeff Bock and this is my third year working at a YMCA camp. I like to swim, camp, pretend I'm a pirate and I absolutly love giant all camp games. I'm from Duluth MN, and am 19 years old. I go to college in Winona and I am training to be an officer in the Army. Travis Fountaine is the coolest camp director ever!!!

Panda (John)

Counselor

Rug Rat (Angie)

Counselor
Hey ya'll, my name is Rug Rat although some people like to call me Angie. I am currently a senior at Assumption High School here in good ole Wisconsin Rapids. This will be my second summer as a counselor at Y camp, but I have spent many many summers as a L.I.T. before. I absolutly love Y camp, and I believe it is pretty much the greatest place on earth. The activities we do at Y camp are so much fun. I love swimming in beautiful Lake Nepco, going on nature hikes, and finding buried treasure, but my favorite activity has to be the crazy and wild game of counselor hunt. If you are a kid who wants to have the summer of a lifetime, then Y camp is the place for you. I know I wouldn't want to spend my summer in any other way. I can't wait for the summer to start and to meet all of you!

Not only have I had experience working at various residential camps, but I am a Returned Peace Corps Volunteer and Returned Peace Corps Response Volunteer having served in Zambia and Malawi as a HIV/AIDS Project Volunteer and HIV/AIDS Technical Advisor. My favorite outdoor activities include swimming, kayaking, biking, and camping and backpacking. I enjoy Italian food. I love working at camp because the smiles that you see on the faces of the campers after they have learned a new skill or made a new friend mean that you are making a positive impact on their lives. I am excited to work with the campers who will be coming to Camp Alexander this summer and to meet the staff as well!!

Gumball (Travis)

Camp Director
I was born and raised in a teeny tiny town called Stanton in Central Michigan. I graduated from Northland College in Northern Wisconsin with a degree in Outdoor Education.

My favorite camp activities are canoeing, capture the flag and eating hot dogs! I work at camp because attending summer camp when I was young was the most amazing experience and I want to give that same feeling to the following generations of campers.

In my free time in enjoy playing all kinds of games with my two sons, reading, and camping in the Slyvania Wilderness with my family.

My favorite food is Meat Lovers Pizza from Pizza Hut. My favorite book of all time is "Redwall." If I could visit any place in the world it would be Scotland.
