Leadership Programs

COUNSELOR-IN-TRAINING PROGRAM
Do you really enjoy outdoor adventures, traditional Alexander fun, camp service projects and do you want to develop your leadership techniques? Then sign up for our Counselor in Training Program! Learn about group dynamics, improve communication skills and forge enduring friendships. Come away with a great sense of achievement and a valuable set of leadership skills that will serve you well in school, sports, youth programs and life.

Our CIT program is designed to train young men and women (ages 14-16) for future work in camping. The CITs will develop leadership skills and gain hands-on experience developing the skills necessary to work with children in a camp setting.

The first week of the CIT session will focus on effective leadership, teamwork, communication, problem solving, decision making, and how to be a positive role model to youth. After a weekend at home, CITs spend the second week of their session putting their skills to the test as a “shadow” to a camp counselor working with a group of campers, planning activities, and assisting in camp programs.
