What is camp all about?

Summer camp is a place where fun and excitement comes together with a safe environment filled with staff and counselors who care. your child will meet new friends, learn new skills, challenge themselves to try new things and always have fun. Every child should have the opportunity to experience summer camp, it will change their lives.

We will take your child under our wings to guide them in their first camp experience so they will feel like they are welcome and cared about. What if I can't afford it?

Money is not an issue. We have two alternatives to help cover the cost of camp. First is our candy bar sale. You can check out boxes of candy from the Y to sell and help pay yopur way to camp. There is also the Strong Kids Campaign, this is a program that provides scholarships for your child to go to camp, if you meet the financial criteria than this is a great way to get to camp. Ultimately we want more than anything to see your child at camp this summer.

Can my child bring a cell phone to camp?

We ask that you keep all cell phones at home; if you need to get in touch with your child you can do so via mail, email or through the camp office.

Do I have to stay for all of parents night?

No, there will be an intro at 6:00p.m with songs and skits, then the rest of the night is dedicated to camp tours and activities for both campers and parents.

Is there a teen program?

Yes, we have an L.I.T.(Leader In Training)program for kids between the ages of 14 and 17. Through this program your child will act as an assistant counselor. Currently L.I.T.s can come to camp for free as volunteers (this may be subject to change in future years). At age 17 they can apply to be a full time counselor. Should I send money with my child?

All money must be deposited into the camp store. Any money that is left with the child is not the responsibility of camp. There will be no cash accepted from campers in the camp store.

What all is included in parents night?

Most parents nights include an intro around the camp fire, where we will sing songs and campers will perform skits. Then the kids will get a chance to show the parents around and actually get to do some of their favorite activities like canoeing and tree climb. Depending on the week there may be alternative activities, like carnival games on carnival week and so on.

What day/time is parents night?

Parents night is on Wednesday night from 6-7:30p.m.

What do I do if my child has medications?

All medication must be turned in upon arrival. Meds will be distributed by the camp nurse when needed. Under no circumstances should the child have meds with them.

Will I get unspent money back?

Yes, any money your child does not spend in the store will be refunded to you at the end of the week. You also have the option to donate the remainder to camp.
